The Weeknd Deletes All His Instagram Posts, Making Everyone Think His New Album Is Coming Out Fast

While the Weeknd has been teasing the arrival of some Bad Brains- and Smiths-inspired music, some are theorizing that the pop singer's recent disappearance from Instagram may be the biggest hint yet that an album release is just around the corner.

As Complex points out, the once-filled Insta feed of Abel Tesfaye has been wiped clean. No posts remain, and a profile pic has been reverted to the familiarly ambiguous white silhouette on a blue background.

But since the user known as abelxo still retains 6.6 million followers, many fans have their eyes affixed on the empty socials page, believing that the Weeknd may be about to reveal some concrete news about the follow-up to 2015's Beauty Behind the Madness.

For his part, the Weeknd also offered up a cryptic set of emojis through his Twitter account last week, which presented autumn-brown leaves and an hourglass. While not confirmed, this could arguably hint at an announcement being made this fall.
Earlier in the month, an interview with VMAN had Tesfaye noting that he wrote an album in L.A., and it's "the best-sounding album I've ever done." He added that it would be hard to label the direction of his latest set of songs, which was inspired by artists including the Smiths, Bad Brains, Talking Heads, Prince and DeBarge.

Also, the Weeknd has apparently been in the studio with Daft Punk working on a mysterious new project.
