Daft Punk and the Weeknd Have Been in the Studio Together

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Aug 23, 2016

Daft Punk haven't released an album since 2013's massive Random Access Memories, but they've been keeping fans entertained with fancy merch and funky action figures in the meantime. Fans may be getting a taste of a new collaboration soon, though, as Toronto's own R&B sensation the Weeknd recently hit the studio with the French electro duo.

Republic Records exec Wendy Goldstein sat in on a hitmakers roundtable discussion for Billboard last month, weighing in on the secrets to successful pop hits. As YourEDM has only just pointed out, an accompanying video clip hears Goldstein revealing that her client the Weeknd had plans to hit the studio with Daft Punk "in two days."

It's unclear exactly when the video interview was conducted, but two weeks ago the Weeknd shared a photo on Instagram capturing a pair of robots sitting atop speakers.
