Noise rock icons the Jesus Lizard have announced their first new album in 26 years. Rack will be out on September 13 through Ipecac Recordings, and the single "Hide & Seek" can be heard now.
The band broke up in 1999 and haven't released a new album since, although they have reformed periodically since then, most recently reforming in to play some shows between 2017 and 2019.
"There are definitely some references to the past," guitarist Duane Denison said of the new album, "but it's more as a point of departure: we don't stay there." The original four-piece lineup recorded with producer Paul Allen at Nashville's Audio Eagle Studio.
"We literally only made the record because we thought it would be fun to make the record," bassist David Wm. Sims added in a statement. "We are bonded by the music we make, and also by the respect we have for each other."
