Flipper Map Out 40th Anniversary Tour with Jesus Lizard's David Yow

The North American trek will hit Vancouver this spring

Flipper stand as one of America's most cult rock'n'roll acts, and while they have broken up and reunited a few times over the years, the seminal group will be celebrating their 40th anniversary with a North American tour this spring.

For the trek, Flipper will have Ted Falconi and Steve DePace repping the band's original lineup, with Jesus Lizard's David Yow once again joining the group. Yow will be filling the shoes of Flipper frontman Bruce Loose, who was forced to retire from the group several years ago after sustaining a back injury. Rachel Thoele will complete the lineup and replace Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, who departed Flipper's reunited ranks back in 2009.

The trek kicks off in Los Angeles on April 12, and it will make several U.S. stops throughout the spring and summer. Along the way, there will be a Canadian show in Vancouver on June 7 at the Astoria.

A press release also promises Flipper will be joined by a series of surprise musical guests on the tour, with the band then heading into the studio with these collaborators at various stops to record new music. For now, stay tuned on that side of things, and check out the tour schedule below.
