Bay Area thrash tacticians Testament will be hitting the road again this spring to promote not only 2013's Dark Roots of Thrash but a good chunk of their first three albums.
The band revealed today (February 17) that they'll launch their "Dark Roots of Thrash II" tour in April, starting with a hometown gig in San Francisco. In addition to their most recent set of songs, it's explained that each show will feature Testament playing their 1987 debut LP The Legacy and 1988's The New Order in full. The shows will also feature a smattering of selections from 1989's Practice What You Preach.
The trip reintroduces bassist Steve DiGiorgio, who had originally played with the troupe between 1998 and 2004, and will also have them travelling alongside fellow California metal vets Exodus and Texas-based outfit Shattered Sun.
"The stars have finally aligned," Testament singer Chuck Billy foretold in a statement. "After almost 30 years of touring, Testament and Exodus get to share our individual styles of thrash metal across the U.S. and Canada. The Day of Reckoning is here and coming to a town near you. Good times with good friends — heavy metal forever!"
The North American trek finds the bands crossing the border into Canada for an appearance at Toronto's Phoenix Concert Theatre on April 15. You'll find the rest of the tour details down below.
