In 2021, Exclaim! named Tems's EP, If Orange Was a Place, as one of the year's best. Now, the Nigerian R&B/Afrobeats singer-songwriter has finally announced her first full-length collection.
While there's no specific release date as of yet, Born in the Wild will arrive sometime in May via '93 / RCA Records. Information like the record's tracklist or any collaborator names also remains under wraps, but Tems has shared a brief trailer for the album, which you can watch below.
The clip appears to contain a snippet of Born in the Wild's title track, with lyrics that see the artist reflect on her childhood in Lagos as well as her newfound star status, singing, "It's all over the news, all over the news, I know this / Under the sun, struggling to find my focus / When I was young, younger then / I was always running away."
