Art rock legends Talking Heads are easily one of the most important bands to come from New York's influential CBGB's nightclub. Now, a new, previously unreleased track from the band performing at the night club is surfaced.
The instrumental track was recorded when Talking Heads opened for Television at the club in 1976. When he introduces the song, David Byrne says, "We call it 'Theme' but then we just keep it to ourselves."
The song offers up lush electric guitars, an uplifting chord progression and melodic bass. Certainly, the title's fitting — this very well could be the Talking Heads' theme song.
Check out "Theme" below.
