This year is taking shape as the moment that Simu Liu decided to charge headlong into his music career. After sharing two singles over the past few months, Liu has announced that he'll drop his debut EP ANXIOUS-AVOIDANT on November 17.
The Shang-Chi, Kim's Convenience and Barbie star broke the news on Instagram today alongside a snippet of an upcoming track.
The untitled new song follows the October release of "If It's Time" and his debut single "Don't," which arrived back in April.
Liu's film career blossomed with the summer release of Barbie, but this year has been all about music for the GTA native, who hosted and performed at his second straight JUNOs in March and, amidst all the single releases, also joined AJ Rafael on select dates of his North American tour.
Although he had previously said he'd cover John Legend's "All of Me," "Go the Distance" from the Hercules soundtrack and "Lose Yourself" by Eminem if he were to share a covers project, the EP is shaping up to be composed of original music.
