It's Thursday, which means your friends will surely flood their Instagram feed with pictures of themselves as babies. Throwback Thursday also applies to Wu-Tang chef Raekwon, however, who is back with yet another flip of a vintage single.
This week, Rae offers up a remix of Gwen Guthrie's "(They Long to Be) Close to You," itself a cover of Hal David and Burt Bacharach's 1963 weeper that was popularized by the Carpenters. Guthrie's version is a hell of a lot funkier, with not a single acoustic guitar to be found, so it works well as the backdrop for a new Raekwon joint.
