Halifax's Quiet Parade are known for introspective, intimate tunes, and the solo-project-turned-band are offering up more of these gentle sounds on their latest EP. Before Old Haunts officially drops on March 12 via Acadian Embassy, you can stream the whole thing here on Exclam.ca.
The five-song collection was recorded at Halifax's Codapop Studios with returning producer Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant, In-Flight Safety), who also produced 2011's Please Come Home (We Hate It Here Without You).
While EP opener "Ghosts" ventures into more uptempo terrain, the band keep the mood mellow on other tracks like the space-folk shuffle "Easy on Me" and the New Orleans-tinged closer "Feel Young." On the other hand, "Edge of the Ocean" finds a middle ground, pairing a percussive roots rock groove with peacefully tuneful melodies.
