Who knew that PUP had such a scandalous origin story? Their new video for "Guilt Trip" shows how the Toronto band met and began playing music together.
The version of the story that's portrayed in this video shows the guys meeting as young kids. Their journey includes blood pacts, a burning cabin, and even a murderous encounter with a drunk cop played by Canadian music personality Grant Lawrence. These events lead the guys to pick up instruments and start playing the noisily melodic, punk-inspired song. The clip was directed by Chandler Levack and Jeremy Schaulin-Rioux.
PUP recently reissued their excellent 2013 debut album internationally through SideOneDummy.
