Phoebe Bridgers has debuted a new song called "I Know the End" during a livestream that aired on Friday (April 10) evening.
Streaming from home for Pitchfork's Instagram, the artist played a handful of tracks from her catalogue, including new material from her forthcoming record Punisher, as well as a cover.
Kicking off the set with her Stranger in the Alps track "Motion Sickness," the livestream ran for just over 20 minutes before Bridgers performed her new song. Presumably, this track is the latest release from her forthcoming album, alongside her two most recent singles "Kyoto" and "Garden," which were also performed in the livestream.
Additionally, Bridgers performed a cover of the late John Prine's The Tree of Forgiveness track, "Summer's End," during the stream as a tribute. Prine passed away on April 7.
"He's one of the most important people on the planet to me," Bridgers explained. "I was lucky enough to see him a couple times. This is from his last record, it's one of my favourite songs ever."
Punisher's upcoming release will mark her highly anticipated follow-up to 2017's Stranger in the Alps. Since Bridgers's debut album, she has recorded and performed in boygenius with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus, as well as Better Oblivion Community Center with Conor Oberst. She also released an original song with the National's Matt Berninger.
Watch the video below, and skip ahead to 18:15 for Bridgers's Prine cover and 22:50 for the new track.
Punisher will arrive on June 19 via Dead Oceans.
