Ox

"Nico" (video)

Despite what the subtitle suggests, Ox's recent tUCo: Original Soundtrack by Ox isn't actually a soundtrack, although it did begin as the intended score for a movie that was never released. Given the project's filmic origins, it's only fitting that the Ontarian alt-country act have released a cinematic music video for the track "Nico."

This clip was directed by John Milne, who, according to a press release, is the same director who originally proposed the film that inspired tUCo.

The band's Mark Browning said this in a statement: "His idea was to turn the NYC Velvet Underground reference of Nico on its head and make it a love story to Northern Ontario. He had some stunning footage he was anxious to cut into it and, it just fell together."

Watch the clip below. This just might be the mellowest video ever to prominently feature an Iron Maiden T-shirt.
