A third preview from reunited indie quartet Owls' forthcoming sophomore set Two has arrived, with the band now offering up "Why Oh Why," another familiarly abstract salvo of stream-of-conscious lyrics and textural, polyrhythmic guitar mastery.
Proving that after all these years he can still do no wrong, guitarist Victor Villarreal laces a dizzying stretch of complex licks around a jazzy beat, making for something that'd rightly break your brain were it not so damned pretty sounding. Vocalist Tim Kinsella, meanwhile, waxes poetically on snowy settings and the hint that sometimes we prioritize ourselves more than we do others ("My horoscope always trumps world news").
You can check the intricate indie rock number down below. As previously reported, Two drops March 25 through Polyvinyl Records.
Owls have also announced their first show in 12 years and will play Chicago's Subterranean on May 16.
