Orville Peck Turns Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" into a Country Anthem

Happy Pride!

BY Allie GregoryPublished Jun 4, 2021

Lady Gaga's monumental 2011 album Born This Way turns 10 this year, and to celebrate, a bunch of artists have come together to cover the record's iconic tunes — just in time for Pride Month. One such artist is homegrown heartthrob Orville Peck, who has offered up his own take on the album's title track with his own "Country Road" version.

Dubbing the take his "official country road cover," Peck said he is "so honoured and excited to be a part of the iconic legacy of this song" and wished his followers a "Happy Pride y'all" on Instagram.

Born This Way Reimagined: The Tenth Anniversary is due to arrive on September 3 through Interscope and so far also features a cover of "Judas" by Big Freedia.

The album will feature all 14 tracks from the 2011 original, plus six alternate versions "reimagined by LGBTQIA+ artists and advocates." So far, the album's other featured artists are being kept secret.

For now, you can listen to Peck's cover below.
