If there's one thing you can count on amidst the mayhem of holiday shopping, back-to-back celebrations and general end-of-the-year chaos, it's live music. There is still a decent amount of live acts to choose from during one of the busiest seasons of the year, and Montreal is here to remind you that it's okay to have a breather and take in the music. Here are seven can't-miss concerts coming to Montreal in December and January.

Nothing screams the holidays more than a homecoming. In support of his recent album Jonah Yano & the Heavy Loop, jazzy composer Jonah Yano returns home to Montreal this December for a headlining performance at La Sala Rossa.

London, ON-based indie rockers Texas King will usher in the holiday season with a high-energy performance in Montreal at the tail-end of their Canadian tour. 

Suki Waterhouse / Bully

Suki Waterhouse's journey from the fictional stage of Daisy Jones & the Six to Eras Tour opener to headliner at MTELUS is a pop dream come true. With Sub Pop labelmate Bully, the two will make a stop in Montreal on the SPARKLEMUFFIN Tour.

It's going to be a Rich Girl$ winter with Down with Webster still riding the high from their comeback. Tapping into mid-2000s nostalgia and holiday spirit, the rap rock collective are bringing back their 2010 Holiday Wintour to Montreal this December. 

L'impératice

L'impératice welcomed French artist Louve to the French pop outfit when lead vocalist Flore Benguigui announced her departure from the group in November. The group will be taking the stage for two nights at Montreal's MTELUS with the new addition to the band.

Shoegaze icons Slowdive are bringing everything is alive up to Canada after expanding their North American tour. Their Montreal performance will wrap up their Canadian leg before they head south to the US.
