Max Creeps Break Up, Reunite and Announce New Album in the Span of Two Days

Who the hell are Max Creeps?

Supposedly-legendary punk rock outfit Max Creeps recently announced that they had broken up after 40 years — and the outcry from people across the music industry has been staggering, with artists as diverse as Slash, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and Lamb of God's Randy Blythe voicing their sadness over the split. What's particularly shocking about their split and the subsequent outcry over it is that no one seems to know who the hell Max Creeps are.

According to a press release, they claim to be a "highly-influential Seattle band" who inspired the likes of the Sex Pistols, the Clash and Devo and created what we know today as punk rock. Yet throughout their 40-year career, they never recorded any of their music in a studio and bootlegs of concerts don't seem to exist, even in the ever-growing expanse of ephemera on the internet.

In response to this outcry, Max Creeps have announced that not only are they reuniting, they're also releasing their first-ever batch of recorded music, Nein, out May 13 via Velocity Records. In anticipation for this unexpected release, they've also unveiled a video for the single "Burn it Down." Oh, fans of punk rock, rejoice! Can we drop the act now?

Obviously, this is a stunt meant to drum up publicity for a new band. Also, this new band has some famous friends willing to play up their role as punk prognosticators. Upon listening to their latest single, one of the singers sounds a lot like Duff McKagan… So we're betting it's probably Duff McKagan.

Watch the video for "Burn It Down" and check out the tracklist for Nein below.
