Spoon have shared a cover of David Bowie's Blackstar closer "I Can't Give Everything Away," recorded for Amazon Music's [RE]DISCOVER campaign that celebrates Bowie's 75th birthday this coming Saturday (January 8).
"'I Can't Give Everything Away' is a tune Alex and I have been playing since we learned it for an acoustic and piano show in Mexico City in 2016," Spoon frontman Britt Daniel wrote in a statement. "It's just a fantastic song, and as the last song on Bowie's final album it doesn't disappoint. We recorded this version live in December 2021."
On February 11, Spoon will release Lucifer on the Sofa, their 10th album and the follow-up to 2017's Hot Thoughts.
In November of last year, Spoon released a cover of the Beatles' "Christmas Time (Is Here Again)" for Spotify.
