After much teasing, Austin indie rockers Spoon have unveiled plans for their new album Lucifer on the Sofa, which is due to arrive February 11 through Matador Records. It's the first new batch of the tunes recorded in their hometown in more than a decade, and they're previewing the effort today with a new single titled "The Hardest Cut."

According to a statement from frontman Britt Daniel, the upcoming 10-track album is "the sound of classic rock as written by a guy who never did get Eric Clapton." Deep-cuts abound, as the artist added of the new single co-written with Alex Fischel: "I spent a lot of 2018 and 2019 listening to ZZ Top."

Co-produced by Spoon and Mark Rankin, the album features cover art by Edel Rodriguez and musical contributions from Dave Fridmann and Justin Raisen.

The group are due to debut some of their new material through a new concert film, Back to the Life // Live from Los Angeles, streaming today and tomorrow (October 29). The film was directed by Andreas Neumann and features concert footage recorded at the Teragram in Los Angeles.
