It's hardly shocking when Liam Gallagher insults fellow musicians (and family members) these days, but it's still entertaining as hell — and his latest target is Paul Weller.
In an interview segment with Northern Transmissions before his Vancouver show, the former Jam man shared his thoughts on Gallagher's recent solo debut As You Were, calling it musically similar to Beady Eye ("which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn't a massive surprise or anything") and describing the lyrics as "a bit sub-standard."
Well, it seems Gallagher just caught wind of those comments, because he took to Twitter early this morning (October 26) to return the favour and share his own thoughts about Weller.
"I don't give a fuck what Paul Weller thinks," the former Oasis singer insisted, before adding that "I've never been 1 of his little bitches and he fucking knows it."
Of course, being Liam Gallagher, it's not a stretch to infer who he might think actually is one of Weller's "little bitches." The Jam frontman-turned-solo-artist makes a guest appearance on the forthcoming record by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. Titled Who Built the Moon?, it's due out on November 24 via Sour Mash.
Hopefully Twitter grants Liam 280-character privileges by then so we can really hear what he thinks of his brother and Weller's collaborative efforts.
