Liam Gallagher has voiced his thoughts on the latest offering from Toronto noisemakers METZ — and surprisingly, he had some nice things to say for once.
In a new clip from an interview with Vice News, Gallagher reviewed METZ's recent single "Cellophane." After a quick listen, he declares: "I'm having it."
Gallagher goes on to add that he particularly likes the bass, the drums, the distorted guitar and the vocals, concluding that "they sound pissed off, which I fucking like."
Despite the winning review, he does eventually offer a bit of a classic Gallagher cynicism. When asked what he thinks the band members look like, he answers: "God, probably horrible." He also wagers that they look like nerds — a claim METZ didn't dispute when they shared the video clip via Twitter.
Further along in the video segment, Gallagher also shares his thoughts on Ugly God, Vera Blue and Damian Marley. See the full clip below.
In another screen appearance, Gallagher debuted a new track from his upcoming debut solo effort last night (September 26), performing "Greedy Soul" on Later… with Jools Holland. See footage of that performance and stream the studio version of the same track down below.
Gallagher's new solo album As You Were arrives on October 6 via Warner Bros. Records.
