Kanye West Spells the Weeknd's Name Wrong While Teasing a Collaboration

He's been talking on the phone with "ABEL WEEKEND"

Kanye West appears to be working with the Weeknd — and, based on an image Kanye posted on Instagram, it appears that he's been spelling his new collaborator's name wrong.

Yesterday, (August 2), Kanye posted a screenshot of his call history, which includes two calls and a FaceTime with someone named "ABEL WEEKEND."

As anyone who has ever written about the Weeknd already knows, this is likely a case of autocorrect trying to fix Abel Tesfaye's artfully misspelled stage name. Damn you, autocorrect!

Presumably, this means that Kanye has recruited the Weeknd to appear on his new album, DONDA, which he has been working on at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

It's also possible that Kanye will appear on the Weeknd's upcoming project, since the Toronto pop singer has an album in the works. He's slated to drop a new single on August 6.

Following Kanye's very messy first listening party for DONDA, during which the album sounded extremely unfinished, the rapper has scheduled yet another listening event for this Thursday (August 5). The album is due to drop the next day (August 6). What could go wrong!
