Jason and Travis Kelce Credit Taylor Swift, Swifties for the Success of Their Chart-Topping Christmas Single

The elder Kelce called Swifties "a powerful group of people"

Taylor Swift's new boyfriendTravis Kelce, along with his brother Jason, have learned what anyone who dares to criticize her finds out the hard way — Swifties are more than a fanbase; they're an army.

Luckily for the NFL player brothers, they experienced the Swiftie effect in a decidedly more positive manner than Ticketmaster did. Their new Christmas song "Fairytale of Philadelphia" hit the top of the iTunes charts shortly after its release, and the Kelce's have credited Taylor and the Swifties (which, incidentally, would be a really good name for a band) for its viral success.

After posting (formerly tweeting) on X about his delight at seeing "Fairytale of Philadelphia" among the top ten iTunes tracks last week, Jason was quickly reprimanded by Swifties for not aiming high enough.

"I got like 85 tweets from Swifties across the world being like, 'You think eight is good? We're taking this to No. 1.' And they did," he laughed on the brothers' New Heights podcast today. "It's a powerful group of people."

"Thanks Taylor, appreciate you, and thanks to the Swifties," echoed Travis.

The song, which is a rendition of the Pogues' "Fairytale of New York," was released as part of the Philadelphia Eagles musical offshoot the Philly Specials' annual holiday album for charity. Check it out below.
