The City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation department has announced that Scarborough is getting a new park, and renderings of it certainly seem like kids are going to start playing "name three songs" on the playground.
While the new greenspace hasn't officially been deemed a music park, Daily Hive has pointed out that digital renderings of the proposed design show what looks like a vinyl-record-shaped courtyard and some sound wave-inspired picnic areas. In our humble opinion, it also looks like there will be a speaker-shaped crawl tunnel and some voice projectors that look like abstract brass instruments. Pretty neat!
The park will sit at 25 Borough Drive — across from Scarborough Town Centre where a new condo is being built, of course. Construction isn't set to start until 2026, with the park set to open in Spring 2028.
If this actually turns out to be a music park, it will follow in the footsteps of Toronto's Music Garden at the harbourfront.
