Interstellar Rodeo has already announced the initial lineups for both its Edmonton and Winnipeg editions. Now, the Edmonton instalment has expanded by adding a high-profile collaboration between three Canadian artists.
The festival runs from July 24 to 26 at Heritage Amphitheatre in Edmonton's William Hawrelak Park. On the final night (which is a Sunday), there will be a special performance from Kathleen Edwards, Luke Doucet and Joel Plaskett under the name Interstellar All Stars.
A press release points out that this performance is particularly special since Edwards isn't playing music much these days, instead spending most of her time focusing on running her new coffee shop Quitters in Stittsville, ON.
Other performers for this year's Interstellar Rodeo Edmonton include St. Vincent, Father John Misty, Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaries, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Tanya Tagaq and more.
This isn't the first time that Interstellar has assembled a one-time-only supergroup. In 2013, Jim Cuddy, Danny Michel and QuiQue Escamilla performed as Interstellar All Stars.
