Iced Earth's new two-DVD set is more history than music, although music provides both the medium and excuse. A bit amateurish (Jon Schaffer's interviewer isn't mic-ed, for example), the DVDs are well-packed, including surround sound audio on the title track, but unless you want to learn more about the U.S. civil war, military collectibles, or how Schaffer has "near single-handedly" kept Iced Earth alive, it's not for you. The patriotism bleeds a little heavy but it's an interesting look beyond the metal that bands seldom offer. (Steamhammer/SPV/Fusion III)
