HOUNDS

'Wild Eyes' (album stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 14, 2015

Despite their home bases being split between Toronto and Montreal, punk unit HOUNDS managed to come together and ready their debut EP Wild Eyes — and Exclaim! has got your exclusive first listen.

The band features some familiar faces to Canadian hardcore fans, with Mike Rokos (Dig It Up!), Patrick Mathers (Hostage Life), Brad Bentley (Rad Affair) and Paul Ramirez (the Flatliners) coming together to forge a fierce new sound.

The band enlisted another another local hardcore hero to produce the record, recruiting Cancer Bats guitarist Scott 'Scoeb' Middleton for the job. As one might expect, the results are loud, fast and aggressive, though the group's melodic tendencies do manage to weave their way throughout the six-song offering.

We've already heard "Thanks" and "Syncope," but now you can fill in the blanks by giving the brand new EP a listen in its entirety. Wild Eyes officially arrives on April 21 via New Damage Records, but you can hear it right now in the player below.
