Halifax's Quiet Parade Prep 'Old Haunts' EP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 26, 2013

Next month, the mellow Haligonians of Quiet Parade will continue to live up their name when they release a new EP. Old Haunts is due out March 12 via Acadian Embassy.

According to a press release, this collection finds the five-piece in a reflective, contemplative mood. The songs were recorded at Halifax's Codapop Studios with returning producer Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant, In-Flight Safety).

While opening number "Ghosts" is said to be an uncharacteristically uptempo number, the other tracks range from indie-rocking Canadiana ("Edge of the Ocean") to spaced-out folk ("Easy on Me"). There's also a call-and-response duet ("How Come You Never Call (Or Write)?") and even a New Orleans-style funeral march (the interlude of "Feel Young").
