The 38th annual edition of the TD Halifax Jazz Festival (HJF) is taking place this July 9 to 14. Festival organizers have begun to reveal new additions to the lineup, which already had Emmylou Harris and Fitz and the Tantrums announced as headliners.
Rap legend Killer Mike, Toronto R&B rising star Charlotte Day Wilson and acclaimed soul musician Nick Hakim will now also be performing on the TD Main Stage, which will see a double-headlining set from Matt Andersen & the Big Bottle of Joy and the War and Treaty on July 12, as well as Alan Syliboy & the Thundermakers supporting Harris on July 11.
Furthermore, Jill Barber will take the stage at St. Matthew's United Church, which will also host performances from the Julian Lage Trio and the Emmet Cohen Trio — meanwhile, Maryna Krut, Avataar and Laura Anglade will play the Carleton.
HJF tickets are on sale now, with general admission starting at $30 CAD. There are also three new value-added ticket options at the TD Main Stage: Bleacher Seating, Stagefront Seating, and the Premium Section.
Fusion Passes are sold out for 2024, but a limited number of Standard Passes — which offer access to all shows of the festival — remain. Stay tuned for more lineup announcements to come.
