Goodnight, Sunrise

"Familiar Faces"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 7, 2016

Goodnight, Sunrise released their debut album Create/Destroy/Create back in 2013, but they've kept fans on their toes with the recently shared live clip for "This Is Yours," and singles like "Deal with It." Well, now they're ready to unveil another brand new track, and you can check it out now.

The song is titled "Familiar Faces," and it's set to appear on the band's sophomore record Falling Awake, which is due out on September 30 through Rejection Records. The new cut was recorded with producer David Kochberg, and it opens eerie and ethereal, featuring haunting vocals from Vanessa Vakharia atop sparse synth instrumentation. By the time the chorus rolls around, though, it becomes a full band affair. And once the guitar solo takes off, the track speeds into the realm of full-throttle rock'n'roll.

"The song explores the challenges and frustrations we encounter when recognizing and trying to overcome our bad habits," the band tell Exclaim!, "and how hard it can be to learn from our mistakes and stop repeating them."
