Five years ago today, Future kicked off an unprecedented run of releases with his Monster mixtape. Now, the acclaimed release has arrived on streaming services for the first time.
You can revisit the 13-track effort in the players below. For the new digital release, Monster's tracklist no longer features a pair of skits and "Fuck Up Some Commas," a single that would go on to appear as a bonus track on Future's DS2 album in 2015.
"I've always spoke through my music and the people championed my trials and tribulations whole heartedly with no regards," Future wrote on Instagram. "Remember #MONSTER 5years later this classic is available on all platforms,Thanks for the love #RIPSETH"
Executive produced by Metro Boomin, Monster is beloved by Future listeners both for its forceful raps ("Monster," "2 Pac") and more touching material ("Throw Away," "Codeine Crazy").
The mixtape was the first in a series of releases leading to the aforementioned DS2, including the Zaytoven-helmed Beast Mode and 56 Nights.
This year has seen Future release album The WIZRD and EP SAVE ME. He has also teased new projects with Drake and some Super Slimey collaborators.
