Toronto indie folksters Forest City Lovers have announced that their third album, Carriage, will see a June 29 release through Out of this Spark Records.
The disc follows the more band-based direction of their last full-length, 2008's Haunting Moon Sinking and promises to have both contemporary pop moments, as well as classic '70s rock harmonies, according to a press release. Or, to quote directly from the press release, "Carriage picks up where Haunting Moon Sinking left off, carrying forward with arrangements and melodies that go from acutely vulnerable to downright sinister."
You can take a sneak peek yourself at the new material and see how sinister it really is right now, because the band is streaming the new track, "Light You Up," here.
Forest City Lovers will be heading overseas for some gigs in May; check out the show details here.
Canadian fans, there will no doubt be touring in support of Carriage, but for now, all the band are offering is one show in Toronto on June 11, when they will play a LEAF fundraiser at Artscape Wychwood Barns. Also of note, head Forest City Lover Kat Burns will be playing a solo show on May 5 at the Horseshoe in Toronto.
