AFROWAVETO, Toronto's celebrated presenter and incubator of multi-genre Black musicians, has announced the lineup for its 2023 Winterwave concert showcase.
Headlined by the incomparable pop-punk legend Fefe Dobson, the can't-miss event takes place on March 4 at the historic El Mocambo. It will also feature performances from local rising artists Omega Mighty, EverythingOShauN, Trueace, Busaboi and DJ Tangerine.
Since its founding in 2019, AFROWAVETO has presented a wide range of concerts celebrating Black talent in Toronto — from dancehall icon Sean Paul to JUNO Award nominees Zenesoul and Tafari Anthony — to local stages amid their year-round concert series presentations. The organization and collective has also hosted a virtual music business workshop series as part of their efforts to champion a more inclusive Black music scene.
