Failure Announce 'The Heart Is a Monster' LP

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 30, 2015

Reunited alt-rockers Failure announced their comeback by playing their first live show in two decades last year, then followed it up with news that they'd returned to the studio.

Well, the results of those studio sessions will be arriving as a brand new 18-song album called The Heart Is a Monster. It's due out on June 30 via INgrooves imprint INresidence, and marks the follow-up to 1996's Fantastic Planet.

In a press release about the new record, vocalist/guitarist Ken Andrews said: "Trying to follow up Fantastic Planet was a bit daunting. We've pushed the bar upward again, but at the same time, we've kept the signature sound of the band intact."

Failure debuted the album's lead single "Hot Traveler" on BBC Radio 1, and you can head here and scroll to the 2:00:35 mark to give it a listen. Below, watch a video about the making-of the new LP.
