Reunited alt-rock unit Failure have announced that in addition to the few tracks they've unveiled since getting back together in 2013, they're now prepping their first full-length since 1996's Fantastic Planet.
Band founder Ken Andrews confirmed their album plans today (January 9) on their Facebook page, noting that the group are "officially in the studio."
"To say that we are enjoying the process would be a huge understatement," he wrote. "For me personally, getting back to record making from the artist's chair has never felt so right and so satisfying. The band is truly in full creative swing with all pistons firing."
Andrews noted that the sessions have had them testing out "new gadgets," including an array of Earth Quaker Devices-brand pedals, but didn't offer up any concrete song details. He also added that the band are going to unveil something next week that "a lot of Failure fans are going to be happy about."
Failure originally called it quits in 1997, a year after the release of Fantastic Planet. Since getting back together, they've issued a 7-inch featuring an alternate edition of Fantastic Planet's "Solaris" and a 1992 demo recording of "Shrine," as well as delivered modern-day material "Come Crashing" and "The Focus" online.
