Destroyer Maps Out North American Tour Dates, Shares New Video

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 13, 2017

Dan Bejar recently revealed plans for his next Destroyer album ken, and ahead of the LP's arrival, he's announced a string of upcoming tour dates and shared a new video.

After wrapping his previously announced European dates, Destroyer will embark on a fall trek across North America. It kicks off in the new year in Portland and will bring Bejar back to Canada for stops in Toronto on January 22 and Montreal on January 23, before the whole thing wraps up in Vancouver on February 9.

He's also unveiled a video for "Tinseltown Swimming in Blood," which was directed by KC (a.k.a Karen Zolo) and addresses themes of identity, borders and race.

"I'd just had a conversation about artist Chris Marker with a friend when I was approached to make a music video for the upcoming Destroyer album," Zolo said in a press release. "'You have a month.' Okay... I had no idea what the song even sounded like, but the only idea I had was to remake Chris Marker's La Jetée as faithfully as possible. It's not just an homage to the great cine-poet; it's also about the medium of film, about still photography. It would have been a billion times easier and less stressful to shoot it digitally, but it was worth it."
