Following a 2022 festival tease, Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA have now given listeners a greater glimpse of what's to come from their collaborative album.
The two spilled pertinent details and played a snippet of new material toward the end of the latest episode of The Danny Brown Show, the Detroit artist's podcast with YMH Studios.
Around the 56-minute mark of the episode, the duo played a song called "Lean Beef Patty," which appears to be named for the social media handle of a popular fitness and bodybuilding influencer.
Brown and JPEGMAFIA also revealed the title of their team-up to be Scarin' the Hoes, Vol. 1, with the former even claiming that he and his collaborator have three albums each arriving this year. You can hear the preview of their latest below.
In mid-January, JPEGMAFIA shared that the collaborative record with Brown was being mixed, while also teasing "3 ALBUMS in 2023." The second project on his slate? A new solo album, which would follow 2021's LP! that arrived in "Online" and "Offline" editions.
Brown, meanwhile, has been teasing new solo album XXXX — or Quaranta — since late 2020. His most recent release remains uknowhatimsayin¿.
On that LP, which Exclaim! named one of the 10 Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2019, JPEGMAFIA appeared on "Negro Spiritual," and produced the Run the Jewels-assisted "3 Tearz."
