Common

"Kingdom" (ft. Vince Staples)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 30, 2014

A few months on from Common's "Made in Black America" collaborative track with Ab-soul, the Chicago rapper has brought Vince Staples onto a track to detail the "Kingdom."

The latest Nobody Smiling preview uses gospel choir samples and a dense No I.D. beat to support Common's socially conscious bars about gun violence. The rapper ruminates on people packin' heat on the streets, pushing keys, poverty and details a funeral. Following his host's religious imagery, Vince Staples jumps on the track to shed light on being a kid and playing with his dad's unloaded revolver, among other things.

A due date has not been given for Nobody Smiling, but you can check out this latest harrowing sneak peek down below.
