If you've been keeping up to date with Chvrches then you already know that the Scottish electro-pop band have been working on a new album. Now, we've got the details of the band's sophomore LP.
Consequence of Sound points to a listing from Aussie retailer Sanity. According to the listing, the album is called Every Open Eye and it will be out on September 25 on Universal. That's the album cover above and the tracklist below. An official announcement from the band is presumably on its way, and a new single is set to arrive tomorrow (July 16).
UPDATE: Chvrches have now confirmed the release via their Tumblr. It will arrive in Canada on Universal Music Canada and in the U.S. on Glassnote.
A recent Pitchfork feature noted that the band recorded the album in their own studio and that they were sticking with their synth-heavy sonic palette with no live drums. Keyboardist Martin Doherty said, "I wanted to avoid making a 'mature' album. That said, it's not like we're making saccharine shite. There's important lyrical content, and we're still pushing the same emotional boundaries, but also trying to make it as accessible as possible." No music from the album has emerged just yet, but a single is expected to premiere on BBC Radio 1 tomorrow (July 16).
Every Open Eye is the follow-up to 2013's The Bones of What You Believe.
Chvrches have a couple of Canadian festival dates booked for this week. Scroll past the tracklist to see their schedule below.
