Japanese pop masterminds CHAI have shared a joyous new single called "SURPRISE," which comes attached to a colourful, light-hearted video inspired by their tour trailer being stolen earlier this year.
The song is a bouncy summertime thing that moves a bit away from the R&B textures of last year's Wink and toward spritely, horn-laden indie pop. In a statement about the Yoshio Nakaiso-directed video, the band said:
When our trailer was stolen during our North American tour, we were able to continue our shows because of the overwhelming support and love from all of you. We never forget how much we appreciate you, and we want to continue to give back to our fans through music, forever and ever. This music video was shot under the blue skies of Los Angeles, with gratitude.
