Busty and the Bass and Magi Merlin, some of Montreal's absolute finest, have teamed up for a brand new single.

Ahead of Busty's March residencies in Montreal and Toronto (at which they've now announced Merlin will be opening), the 10-piece collective melted down a sprawling jazz odyssey based on three chords and a groove into the sassy, sensual "Far from Here." It follows their last single, November's "All The Things I Couldn't Say to You," as well as last spring's KARNEVAL EP.

Merlin, whose Gone Girl was one of Exclaim!'s 50 best albums of 2022, brings her signature silken bravado and flippant energy to elevate the psychedelic, soulful jam — which she kicks off with the assertion, "All my life I've been this dope, baby" — into the stratosphere.

While in the studio together, the dream team also recorded a rendition of Hiatus Kaiyote's "Red Room," which they shared on social media yesterday (February 14).
