Hot on the heels of their recent collaboration with Cadence Weapon, Busty and the Bass are back with another single — this time joined by Philly-by-way-of-Atlanta rapper STS — ahead of a new EP.

The KARNEVAL EP arrives May 13 via Arts & Crafts. It follows last year's ET Suite EP, which featured reworks of one of the tracks from their last full-length, 2020's Eddie.

The Montreal funk purveyors' forthcoming collection is described as "soulful, late-night hip-hop," orbiting the nostalgic central image of an abandoned fairground. Breezy lead single "Merry Go Round" melds jazz and rap with seamless, improvisational fluidity.

Busty and the Bass have also recently undergone a lineup change: vocalist, saxophonist and founding member Nick Ferraro announced his departure from the collective on social media.

"This marks a new chapter for the group," the band wrote. "With Nick's absence and the evolving nature of the music industry, we've taken the time to dig deep in the studio, preparing a lot of new music and an entirely new and fresh live show production."

Like Ferraro, we can't wait to see what they cook up next.

Listen to "Merry Go Round" below and stay tuned for further EP details.
