Bryan Ferry has shared his first original composition in ten years — which began its life as a collaboration with Nine Inch Nails.

"Star," which you can hear below, first started "as a sketch" initially composed by the NIN duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross before it was completed by the Roxy Music frontman and singer Amelia Barratt.

"A couple of years ago I helped her record an audiobook here in my studio," Ferry shared of Barratt in a release. "I was very impressed by her writing, and this is the first song we did together. I'm very excited about this new work—there's a lot more to come."

"Star" is Ferry's first original work since sharing solo LP Avonmore in 2014.

It stands as the lone new, original work to appear on Ferry's Retrospective: Selected Recordings 1973-2023, which arrives October 5 via BMG.
