Braids Team Up with Wye Oak for North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 11, 2014

Montreal avant-pop trio Braids are bracing themselves for another push behind Flourish//Perish, having just announced they'll be joining Wye Oak on their upcoming spring tour.

Braids will be hitting North America alongside the U.S. folk explorers in May, starting out in Pittsburgh before heading back into Canada for sets in Montreal and Toronto. The trip closes out back beneath the U.S./Canada border in Atlanta.

You'll find all of the show specifics down below, as well as in Braids' new, ambient-scored tour trailer featuring the info screened atop a rippling waterscape.

While perhaps overestimating happenstance, it should be noted that just as Braids are supporting their feted Flourish//Perish, tour partners Wye Oak's upcoming Shriek is said to feature arrangements in which "the arcs of melodies and the new rhythmic elements flourish."

Wye Oak's new album arrives April 29 through Merge.
