Barenaked Ladies are winging into the weekend with the arrival of 15th studio album In Flight, and you can now hear the entire effort below.
Arriving today via the group's own BNL Entertainment, In Flight follows 2021's Detour de Force and includes previously shared singles "Lovin' Life," "One Night" and "Too Old."
The effort was recorded with producer Eric Ratz at Toronto's Noble Street Studios, and even includes a pair of musical tributes to the group's hometown in "See the Tower" and "The Peace Lady."
In the musical spirit of getting by with a little help from our friends, In Flight features contributions from co-writers Max Kerman (Arkells), Donovan Woods, Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra) and Steve Aiello (Thirty Seconds to Mars).
Not only does today mark the release of In Flight, but another important milestone in Ladies lore: it's been 25 years to the day since the group released 1998 smash "One Week."
Speaking with Exclaim! about the milestone anniversary, singer-songwriter Ed Robertson shared how he initially thought the song would be a B-side, in addition to further thoughts on "Chalet Suisse," his favourite "One Week" appearance in popular culture and which line from his rap verses remains his enduring favourite.
As previously reported, Barenaked Ladies have lined up a pair of "Hometown Holidays" performances in their home province, set for December 1 and 2 at Casino Rama in Orillia, ON. Last year, the band treated their seasonal collection Barenaked for the Holidays to its debut vinyl pressing.
