Barenaked Ladies will be spending this December on a Canadian holiday tour, and now they've announced plans to reissue their 2004 album Barenaked for the Holidays in expanded form. It will be out on November 22 through Raisin' Records.
The new version of Barenaked for the Holidays contains nine bonus live tracks. Seven of these are live versions of songs from Barenaked for the Holidays, while two are different: a cover of "Feliz Navidad," and something called "Santa Sabbath (Xmas Metal-y)," which is a medley of Christmas traditionals sung to the tune of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs." The latter is sung by drummer Tyler Stewart, with frontman Ed Robertson on drums. These were recorded at Toronto's Noble Street Studios for the band's 2020 streaming special, A Very Virtual Christmas.
In addition to the expanded digital edition, Barenaked for the Holidays will be getting its first-ever vinyl pressing. Pressed on 180-gram red wax, this will be out on November 18, and is available to pre-order here.
