BRAT summer may actually officially be over now, but its unmistakable musk lingers. Surprising no one, a huge proponent of one of the tracks on Charli XCX's opus is former US president Barack Obama, who included "365" — a song about doing coke and aspiring to go on a year-long bender — on his summer playlist.
Now, Obama has (somewhat) settled long-held suspicions that he doesn't really listen to all of the often very on-trend music that he includes in his playlists, confirming that he is indeed bumpin' that.
I've Had It podcast hosts Jennifer Welch and Angie "Pumps" Sullivan recently sat down with Barry to play a round of "Had It or Hit It?" and did their due diligence by asking if he really had a BRAT summer.
"I just put out my playlist, and '365' is on it," Obama replied. "And [BRAT] is a great album. People question sometimes whether I'm actually listening to all this music. As I've testified before, I am. Charli XCX — she knows what she's doing."
Funnily enough, that's exactly what the pop star had to say about her tweet "endorsing" Kamala Harris's presidential bid, which promptly resulted in the politician's campaign getting a complete BRAT makeover.
