Elizabeth Fraser — the unmistakably astral-projecting voice of Cocteau Twins (that is probably to blame for pioneering the overuse of the word "ethereal" in music journalism) who also has a new project called Sun's Signature — is now the namesake of an asteroid.
Cocteau Twins' record label 4AD shared the news on X (formerly known as Twitter) yesterday (September 28). They wrote that, on Wednesday (September 27), scientists in the International Astronomical Union named an asteroid known as 2013 TF19 "Fraser" in honour of the Scottish singer following a decade of research, including a NASA link with astronomical data about the planetoid.

According to the page, "Fraser" was first discovered on August 31, 2013, by researchers M. Kusiak and M. Żołnowski at Tincana.
Fraser joins the ranks of fellow asteroid namesake SOPHIE, as well as Black Sabbath's Tommy Iommi and his fossil, Taylor Swift and her millipede species, and Arkells' Max Kerman and his snowplow.
