Tonight (December 17), electronic god Aphex Twin is making a rare North American appearance at Houston's Day for Night festival. To make the occasion extra special, the beatmaker had released a record just for the occasion.
The record's contents are unknown, but it's being sold at the festival's merch table. As can be seen in social media posts from fans, the record comes in a plain white sleeve. It features the logos from Warp Records, Aphex Twin and Day for Night, plus the words "Houston, TX 12.17.16." See photos below.
UPDATE (12/19, 11:40 a.m. EST): You can now listen to both tracks from the record below.
Pitchfork reports that the festival has confirmed that the record is real, although Aphex Twin and Warp have yet to comment. Presumably, we'll find out what the record contains once festival attendees head home and put it on the turntable.
This mysterious release follows this summer's Cheetah EP.
