Alberta is getting its very first social distancing-approved concert courtesy of Brett Kissel. The Canadian country singer will perform "Live at the Drive-In" at River Cree Resort and Casino just outside of Edmonton on June 13.

In addition to drive-in attendees, Canadians across the country are invited to join the show via livestream this summer. Sales from the show will benefit Food Banks Alberta. Attendees in person and online will also be encouraged to text to donate, with concert host Safeway matching all donations up to $25,000.

Kissel offered the following statement about his upcoming performanceL

Music, and specifically country music, serves as a soundtrack to our lives. Obviously, the last few months have been an incredibly difficult chapter in all of our stories here in Canada and throughout the world. Through performing this one-of-a-kind drive-in show, I want to use live music to bring some light and happiness to people. I want to say thank you to all of those who have been on the front lines during this pandemic and to do what we can to make a difference supporting those in need. I want to support everyone through something that I miss — that we all miss, very much — live country music.

Tickets for the performance go on sale Monday (May 25) at 10 a.m. local time. They will cost $50 per vehicle.
